Welcome to all, First of all I wanted to thank you for taking the time to read a little bit more about myself. Currently I am working as a receptionist at a certain Institute. I'm not going to give the specifics, but I do love my job. I have been playing games since I was a wee little one. From the time I was 5 I would fight to stay up late so I could watch my father play Super Mario World 2. I would kill to watch, even if I wasn't playing. Watching was good enough back then. I have always had an affinity for gaming, and I believe that I will continue to enjoy it into old age. All the same. I'm looking to meet new people, make new friends. I'm always looking for the next new endeavor. I am currently playing: FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, and Diablo 3. You can find my Steam Profile @ Please message me any time if you have any questions or you would like to simply chat it up. If you read this I appreciate your time and effort. Thank you

Don’t Forget The Family

This is directed towards all of those with family’s that have this addiction called “Gaming”. Lets face it, for those gamers out there we all do it. We have trouble not playing when the opportunity strikes us. We have a passion for games, art and music. Hey, games are art. It’s a combination of acting, pictures, music. No different from a movie other than the simple fact that we control the choices and exact actions our character make.

But we still have to take the time to remember that we have family. Whether this is our parents, wives, children, grandparents, or even friends. We need to remember to spend time with them as well. They need our attention just as much as we need their. Physical interaction with others not only lets them know that we love them, but lets them know that we know they love us back. I’m not a psychologist but I have experienced a lot firsthand that could have been prevented had I set aside some time to spend with my family.

Here are some tips that I came up with:

#1 If you are planning on doing a raid, or a dungeon let your family know that you will be running a dungeon at this time on this night and you can’t pause, or be interupted. Make sure that they are ok with this, and they understand that this time is yours.

#2 If you are with family in conversation, or watching a child while gaming. Don’t start dungeons or raids. Try to play a game that you can pause, and avoid online play during these moments. You want to make sure your family knows you can interact with them immediately if the need arrises.

#3 Side asside some family time throughout the week. Maybe 1-2 nights a week that you will not play games and will spend with them. Plan on watching a movie with them. Make some popcorn, drip some butter on it and sit on the couch with them and enjoy a good time with a movie (Even though we know you’ll be thinking about running that dungeon the whole time).

#4 Be considerate of others. I think this is the most important thing. If your games are getting in the way of others, and disturbing their daily norm than they should be there. It’s alright to play your games on the TV, I think that’s fine. But when you take your computer and post it in the middle of the front room and expect everyone to walk around you that goes a bit far. Not only does this interupt the family room, it just seems rather rude.

#5 If your married with Children please give your wife a break. My wife spends most of the day at home watching our little ones. When I come home I’m exhausted. My wife understand that I’m tired and that I need a little break when I get home. But this does not mean that I should just jump on my games and start my dungeons. She needs a break too, and shouldn’t you spend time with your kids anyway. So don’t refrain from letting her take a shower, and relax for a little bit while you spend time with the kids. Plus, she will probably be more receptive to letting you have your own time.

#6 Make sure she knows you still love her. She is the love of your life right? Show her that. Still make the effort to take her out from time to time. Maybe you can make dinner this time. These things are very important and will help with strengthening the relationship.

These are the six tips that I like to use in my own life. I’m not always the master at applying them, however I do my best. My family knows this. If your having trouble please feel free to drop a comment. It’s good to see what others have done as well.

What do I think about “Peter Molyneux Hates Free To Play”?

After reading over an article recently posted via “The Escapist”. According to the article Peter Molyneux hates free to play.  Everyone has their own “Point of view” on “F2P” or “Free to Play” gaming.  “We cannot continue to be obsessively greedy with our consumers, grooming children for hundreds of pounds from their parents’ accounts” Peter said.  I couldn’t agree more.  While there are games out there have developed a system in the F2P area that are successful in treating the gaming community to a fair and worthwhile endeavor.  I can’t help but recall the numerous number of games that I myself have come across that seem to be solely geared towards emptying my pockets.  I can’t help but agree with Peter here.   We need something different.  We need something that does not temporarily reward players when they purchase items on a cash shop.  Players need to know that their reward for purchases are worth while.

On the Europe side there is a strong push for advertisements to for games to show their fees and costs for their cash shop items and additional transaction costs upfront.  This push towards free to play and a deeper integration could be damaging our in flow of new gamer.  It can, put a bad taste in their mouths.  Granted I myself have had bad experiences with F2P.  I’m not about to name any games, but the 300 hours played into said game feels regretful now.  It was not worth all that time.  Of course, this kind of thing could happen with any game.  I can strongly relate to these feelings and how it feels to be cheated by a game that advertises more that it offers.

Glamour & New Gear Preview For Patch 2.2

It is almost time Final Fantays fans for the new 2.2 Patch and we have one thought on our mind. We can’t wait! The new additions for patch 2.2 that have been so longed for are almost here. With the Glamour Preview of Patch 2.2 we get to see a little more on how the glamour system works, and a few pictures displaying some of the changes being made. After the update has been completed we will finally be able to change the appearance of our best I90 Armors. We will no longer be restricted this way.  You will soon be able to exchange armors of the same type with eachother on the basis of appearance.  I don’t who if anyone else is as excited as myself.

Gerolt’s at it again!  A new armor set is available via the new patch.  To get these masterpieces however you will need to collect “Allaghan Tombstones of Soldiery”  I myself look forward to experiencing these new patch updates, and the new content.  To experience the new beast tribe quests and the battle with Leviathan.  All this new content to come around the end of the month.  I cannot wait.  Can you?  Please let me know your thoughts below in the comment section.

One of the new Pugilist armors available! Those claws look dangerous.

Don’t worry, I did not forget about the mounts. They will also be available through the beast tribe quests. I think I will be spending much more time playing Final Fantasy in the coming months.  Even thought they were added on earlier this month I don’t mind doing a little recap.  Here are a couple of photo’s of the new mounts.

Changing Things Up! Bioshock Infinite VS. Hotline Miami

I’m taking a break from the Raids and Dungeons of FFXIV: ARR.  I feel that the time is right to refresh things.  The big question is, “Bioshock VS. Hotline Miami”  I will be spending a majority of this week playing both of these games and writing a synopses of each.

Hotline Miami

Well known for quick gore, and high level of difficulty.  Punishes the player for making mistakes and is severe trial and error.  Trust me, everyone has a blast with this as you pummel through the levels step by step knocking down every gun toting swing jockey that stands in your way.  Feel free to bash this guys face in, or push his eyes out.  O’ was that baseball bat to slow for you try a samurai sword.  The game is deeply creative, and what it lacks in deep graphics gains by quick pick ups and addictive gameplay.  I honestly can’t get enough of this title.  See what I think by the end of the week.

Bioshock Infinite

Let it be known I have not played previous Bioshock titles.  So I had little to no expectations of the game other than word of mouth and numurous perfect 10 reviews online.  What does this game have to offer?  Cold blooded killing with a riveting storyine!  When you think things can’t get any cooler you find yourself pulling weapons, turrets and sentry’s out of thin air.  Need reloading your weapon?  No problem, just shock, rodeo or fireball that sucker in your way.  No regrets, no mercy.  Perfect entertainment.  But I haven’t finished it yet.  See what I think at the end of this week.

Trailer provided via Machinima (I take no credit for the content displayed).

Both of these games blow me away and serve as perfect entertainment when the crafting of FFXIV: ARR becomes far to boring for my own eyes.  By the way, just so everyone else knows.  I hate crafting.  I really hate crafting.  However, I completely understand the use it serves in most MMO RPG’s.  So it is still something I suffer through.  But someone once told me “Are you really having fun if your working on a game?”  My opinion:  Depends on the work.  I hate crafting but it doesn’t bother me.  This post is subjected to the topic of “Crafting”  Please respond by letting me know what you think about “Crafting”.  I would also love to hear how you feel about Bioshock Infinite & Hotline Miami.  Please respond below.

First Post, What’s your favorite game of ALL TIME?

Since the dawn of games we have had one simple request.  “Make it better” From Atari 2600, to Famicom, to the next gen advancement.  We are “Always” looking for something better.  What is the next step for gaming?  Next Gen?  So to celebrate going into the next era of gaming and in celebration of my first post here I want to ask one simple question.  What’s your favorite game of all time?

Too much to ask…?

So I think I’m going to go first and tell you about my favorite game of all time.  In truth my favorite game is always changing and just like the time, so do my interests.  At this moment I find myself obsessed with Final Fantasy XIV:  A Realm Reborn.  So far I have clocked in a solid 64 hours on Steam, and at least 60 before being released onto Steam.  But the question remains…What do I love about this game?

The Story:

The story was the first thing that drew me too the game.  Unlike other MMORPG’s that I had played through in the past it told a fantastic and epic tale. The old tale about the forces of light and dark battling centered around the threat of a great war.  The Garleans have withdrawn their invasion to recouperate after “The Calamity” that took place in the original Final Fantasy XIV.  The story continues on and on and on and so long as I continue to read the dialogue I continue to find myself completely drawn into the world of Final Fantasy.

It leads the game with a strong gameplay that requires strategy and well positioning yourself to best suit your party or yourself while soloing.  Fights are interactive requiring you to dodge attacks, and move to assist players.  Roles are specific.  Your tanks, healers, and DPS (Damage Per Second) are defined to make the dungeons/boss’s easier to defeat, and encourages teamwork.  Plus, there is a near endless number of things to do in the game if you open yourself up to those things.  Character creation is specific to your preferences allowing you to develope your character however you see fit.  My favorite is the way the game handles different classes.  You are able to select multiple classes on ONE MAIN CHARACTER.  For me this meant a lot.  That means I don’t have to switch to another character to play as my tank, or healer.  I can do it all on one and can do so on the fly.  This is an achievement and I think it’s a very important achievement.

Final Fantasy RR: A Realm Reborn is about to receive patch 2.2.  A trailer has been released recently going over some of the new features and the New Boss: Leviathan.  I know that the Final Fantasy community is excited about this new release as much as I am.  I can’t wait to see all of the new content being added to the game.

So now that I have exhausted a lot of word choice I want to hear what everyone else feels is their favorite game.  Either of all time or at the moment.  What is your favorite game?  Share it!
